Welcome to HC 16!

This is a quick-start guide for first-time & returning attendees alike. Whether you’re brand new or a Handycon regular, this guide will help you hit the ground running. From arrival tips to can’t-miss events, here’s everything you need to know for a smooth and fun weekend.



🗺️ Quick Links



⭐ What’s New or Noteworthy at Handycon 16? ⭐

  • 8 Exhibitors and 11 different playtesters featuring; exciting prototypes and hidden gems from up-and-coming designers, the opportunity to buy new and pre-loved board games and a variety of accessories and confectionary.


  • Rainbow and Unicorn fun-time - A variety of events and games to sign up to, to meet new gamers and have fun. Release the rainbow.


  • First-Timer/Social Anxiety assistance - Speak to one of the champions in rainbow lanyards who are there to assist if you are struggling to find a game to play, or not feeling confident to ask. They will do their best to facilitate. ️‍🌈


  • Always available games - Try Galactic Cruise and/or Finspan all weekend without needing to pack away or set it up afterwards. All we ask is for you to reset the game when you finish. 

  • Raffles! - Visit the Missing People Charity Table and Join Small Games during Saturday & Sunday as well Red 7 Tournament to



🧭 When You Arrive


Check-In: Bring your digital or printed ticket to registration. You’ll receive your insert, lanyard, pandemic and orient yourself to the map.


Bring and Buy: Donate £1 per game to our designated charity and receive stickers to advertise your games for sale in our extensive Bring and Buy area.


Game Library: Borrow from our extensive library all weekend. Not sure what to try? Ask a volunteer for recommendations.



🎯 Don’t Miss


  • Scheduled Events: Charity Tournaments, Exhibitor demos, and Handycon run events sign-ups fill quickly. Use the game organiser or sign-up sheets to secure your spot.

  • Playtest Zone:  Try out works-in-progress and give valuable feedback to designers. Each playtest you complete will reward you with a star for your lanyard. Collect 4 stars or more over the weekend to enter a free HC Ticket draw. 

  • Marketplace – Browse games, accessories, merch, and exclusive Handycon items.


✅ Handy Tips


  • Bring a water bottle – Refill stations are available around the venue.

  • Need a group? – Use the “Looking for Players” signs or hop onto our Game Organiser to find and sign up to games.

  • Volunteers & Staff: They are easily identifiable in Orange and happy to help. Don’t hesitate to ask!
